The idea
A jam'iya is simple on paper: everyone pays the same amount each cycle, and one member takes the whole pot in turn. In practice it lives in group chats and spreadsheets, and disagreements start over who has paid and who goes next. Thamar, Arabic for "fruit", turns the circle into a shared tree that grows with the group.
The approach
Creating a circle takes three short steps (amount, timing and members), with each member's payout recalculated live at the bottom of every screen. Members join through a share link or WhatsApp, and the organiser can see who has accepted, who is pending and who declined. The turn order is set by a fair random draw or arranged by hand, and it locks once everyone has agreed.
The design
On the circle home, every member is a fruit on the tree: green while they wait, orange once they have paid, with this cycle's harvester highlighted. A list view, activity updates and a single "Pay your share" action sit underneath. The app is designed right-to-left in Arabic first, with English available from the very first screen, and runs on a documented component library of states and variants.
